Mexico is a wonderful place to visit. Even if just for a weekend for some border shopping! But you must know that you will need to purchase Mexico Auto Insurance to be covered! Your US insurance will not cover damagaes caused in an accident across the border.

Also Mexico does require you have Mexico Insurance in you auto at all times from a Mexico domciled insurance company while driving in Mexico. There are specific lines of Mexico Auto insurance to meet the needs of tourist. Sometimes your US insurance will cover you, but that still does not satisfy Mexican legal requirements.
